Work & process · Orange Park, FL

Recent work for real clients.

A ministry, a print shop and an HVAC company. For each one: what they needed, what I built, and what I still look after. Below that is how a project runs, what it costs and the terms in plain English.

01 · Ministry website

Riteway Ministries

Sam Abood's ministry in Northeast Florida: training, speaking, consulting, publishing and messages.

The old site ran on WordPress with a stack of heavy plugins. Sam wanted the same menu, the same wording and the same feel, rebuilt so it works properly on a phone.

What I built
  • A hand-coded site that keeps the original navigation and copy, page for page: Meet Sam Abood, Messages, Training, Speaking Engagements, Consulting, Publishing, Give and Store.
  • A Messages page that fills itself. It pulls the latest videos from the ministry's YouTube channel, so new uploads show up without editing the page.
  • A "Stay Encouraged" email signup, plus Give and Store pages that match the rest of the site.
  • SEO and AI-search optimization so search engines and AI assistants can read what the ministry does.
What I still look after

Twelve months of hosting and maintenance, prepaid, with up to 30 minutes of updates a month, including the weekly YouTube video uploads.

02 · E-commerce rebuild

Honor Printing + Design

A print shop in Mableton, Georgia, in the Atlanta area, printing for churches, schools and small businesses.

Honor needed a full rebuild of printwithhonor.com: a store that speaks to each kind of customer and makes it easy to ask for a quote on custom work.

What I built
  • A custom Shopify theme, with a Shop menu that includes product search.
  • Landing pages for churches, schools, and nonprofits and small businesses, each with its own products, FAQ and quote form.
  • A quote system: quote and contact forms, then a thank-you screen that explains what happens next and how to send artwork.
  • Product pages with an "At a glance" summary at the top and a row of related products.
  • An SEO foundation: cleaner product titles and breadcrumbs, Google Search Console and Analytics set up, a summary file for AI assistants, and a blog.

03 · Local service website

Kool Runnin's Heating and Air

A Jacksonville HVAC company doing residential and light commercial heating, cooling and refrigeration.

Kool Runnin's needed a website where someone with a broken AC can find the right service and call or request help in a couple of taps, including from a phone.

What I built
  • A hand-coded site: Home, Services, About, Reviews, Service Areas and Contact.
  • A services page covering AC repair, installation, heat pumps and split systems, ductwork, commercial coolers and ice machines, and maintenance, with an FAQ.
  • Call buttons everywhere, including one that stays on screen on phones, plus a service request form.
  • Service-area and local search setup for Jacksonville and Clay County, with structured data that tells Google what the business does and where.
What I still look after

Monthly hosting and maintenance.

The process

From first email to live site, in six steps.

Every project runs on the same six steps, whether it's a website, a brand or an AI setup. You always know where things stand and what's next.

Week 0 · Free

Discovery call

A free 30-minute call where I ask more questions than I answer. The goal: understand what you're trying to do (often different from what you wrote on the form), figure out if I'm the right fit, and sketch a rough scope. No slide deck, no pitch.

Week 1 · Within 5 business days

Written proposal, fixed price

A plain-language proposal with every deliverable named, one fixed price, a realistic timeline and what's out of scope. Anything outside that scope gets its own written quote before I start on it, so there are no surprise hourly bills. A 50% deposit starts the work.

Weeks 1–2 · Design

Design & direction

Wireframes or simple mockups first: structure before style. Once the flow is agreed, I apply the visual direction (type, color, imagery). Two rounds of revisions are included. Changes beyond that are quoted in writing first.

Weeks 2–5 · Build

Build & integrate

Hand-coded HTML and CSS, or a platform like Shopify or lean WordPress when your team needs to edit it themselves. Content, forms, schema markup and speed tuning. You get a staging link the whole time so you can watch it come together and flag anything that looks off.

Weeks 4–6 · Launch

Launch & handoff

Most multi-page sites launch in 4 to 6 weeks; a one-page starter takes about 3. Before launch: a final check on phones, keyboard and screen reader, then the domain switch, SSL, analytics and redirects from old addresses. The other 50% is due at launch, and I walk you or your team through everyday updates.

Ongoing · Optional

Care plan (if you want it)

After launch you can move onto the $50/month care plan: hosting, backups, SSL, security updates, uptime monitoring and up to 30 minutes of content edits a month. It's month to month. Cancel anytime, and it runs to the end of the month you've paid for. You're also free to host the site somewhere else.

What working together feels like

Anatomy of a typical project.

The process on paper is one thing. Here's what working with me is like week to week: how updates arrive and when you'll hear from me.

Weekly written updates

Every Friday you get a short update from me: what got done, what's next, and what I need from you.

One-business-day replies

You'll hear back within one business day, Monday to Friday, 8 to 5 Eastern. I don't promise nights or weekends, so you always know the window.

Texts for real emergencies

Care-plan clients can text me when something is truly broken, like the site being down. No account manager to route through.

One place for everything

Files, the staging link and decisions live in one shared place, so you can find them again six months later.

Decisions in writing

When we agree on something on a call, I email you a short summary. Nobody has to re-argue why that button is teal.

A clean exit

You own the code, files, accounts and domain. If we part ways, you get everything and the access to it.

How I charge & ship

Six rules I don't bend.

Industries I build for

Mixed portfolio. One standard.

Service businesses, churches and ministries, nonprofits and solo owners: people who care about the work but don't want to manage a big agency.
