About · Orange Park, FL

Hi, I'm Adam. P27 is me.

No team to hide behind, no account manager layered between us, no "let me circle back with the designer." If you work with P27, you work with me — from the first call to launch day, and beyond it if you want the care plan.

The short story

How P27 got here.

The studio's more than a decade old now, but the road to get here wasn't a straight line. Here's the condensed version.

Charleston, SC

Cutting teeth on client work.

Before P27, I did web and brand work for church, nonprofit and small-business clients in the Charleston area. Two things stuck: small organizations can't afford enterprise agencies but deserve careful work, and most agency layers exist to justify headcount, not to serve clients.

Jacksonville area

Home in Northeast Florida.

The family moved from Charleston to the Jacksonville and Orange Park area. Today I'm based in Orange Park, working in person with businesses, churches and nonprofits across Jacksonville, Clay County and Northeast Florida, and remotely with clients anywhere in the U.S.

2015 · P27 founded

Opened P27 Design.

Hung out a shingle with one conviction: every client would work directly with me, every project would have a fixed price in writing, and every proposal would be written in language you could explain at dinner. Named the studio after Psalm 27:13–14. More on that below.

2023–now · AI chapter

Added AI integration as a flagship service.

I kept watching small-business owners drown in admin work while tools like ChatGPT and Claude sat unused, so I started running workflow audits and building custom GPTs for clients. It quickly became the work I'm most excited to take on. Small teams get a lot out of AI when someone sits with them and sets it up right.

Today · Solo & intentional

Still one person. On purpose.

More than a decade in, I still run P27 solo. I write the proposals, push the pixels in Figma, write the HTML, set up the GPTs, launch the site, and answer the phone. When a project needs a specialist I don't have in-house, I hire a trusted freelancer and manage them, so you still only ever talk to me. I also pastor full time, which is why church and nonprofit work feels like home turf.

Why "P27"?

The meaning behind the name P27

I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.

The name comes from this verse — a conviction that good work, honest work, work you can point to — happens here, in the land of the living. Not in someday-maybe proposals. Not in lock-in contracts. Not in dashboards nobody checks. In real sites that load, real systems that run, real relationships that last. P27 was built for the work that actually ships — in the time we actually have.

"Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage." — v. 14

How I work

Four rules, no mystery.

These are the ground rules I set on every project. Follow them long enough and you either get a great result — or you figure out early that I'm not the right hire and move on without burning a month of your time.

01

Plain language.

If you can't repeat the strategy back to your spouse at dinner, it isn't a strategy yet. No jargon, no acronym soup, no buzzwords in proposals or meetings.

In practice Instead of "we'll deploy a multi-channel top-of-funnel acquisition flow," a proposal reads "we'll run two Google Ads and see which one gets you more calls."
02

Fixed prices, upfront.

Every project is a fixed price in writing with a clear scope. Anything outside it gets its own written quote before work starts. The only hourly rate is $125, for consultations and out-of-scope or mid-project-cancellation time.

In practice Your 4-page website quote is $1,500 flat — not "starting at $1,500." If mid-build you decide you want a 5th page, I send a fresh $250 quote and you say yes or no before it happens.
03

Direct access.

You text me, you email me, you call me. There is no account manager to get past. If I'm slammed, I'll tell you, and I'll still reply within one business day, Monday to Friday, 8 to 5 Eastern.

In practice You have my cell from day one. On the care plan and your site goes down? Text me; real emergencies are what that's for. Weekly update? I send it Friday so you don't have to ask.
04

Honest fit assessment.

If you're not a fit for me — wrong budget, wrong service, wrong timeline — I'll say so on the first call and refer you to someone who is. Better for both of us.

In practice If you need Magento + custom ERP integration with 10k SKUs, I'll point you to a shop that does e-commerce at scale. I'd rather lose the lead than build something I can't support.
Honest fit

Who I work well with — and who I don't.

I'd rather save us both a month than talk you into the wrong engagement. If either side of this list is obviously your situation, that's useful information before we talk.

✓ Good fit

You'll probably love working with me if…

  • You're a small business, church, nonprofit, or solopreneur. My process is built for 1–30 person organizations, not Fortune 500s.
  • You value direct communication. You want to talk to the person doing the work, not a project manager relaying.
  • Budget is $800–$10,000 for projects or $50–$1,000/month in recurring care/retainer work.
  • You care about the craft. Lighthouse scores matter to you. Type renders matter. The CMS being easy for your staff to update matters.
  • You want written, fixed-price scope. "Let's see where it goes" projects aren't how I run.
  • You're open to AI making your team more efficient. Even if you don't need it on day one.
✕ Not a fit

We'll both be happier if you go elsewhere when…

  • You need enterprise-scale e-commerce (Magento, Shopify Plus, B2B portals with custom ERP sync).
  • You want an hourly-billed team of 10. I'm one person, and projects are a fixed price in writing. Simple as that.
  • You're looking for "just cheap." There are template sites on Squarespace for $200. I can't compete with that — and shouldn't.
  • You need a 72-hour turnaround on a custom build. Most good work needs at least three weeks to be good.
  • You want rankings guaranteed. Nobody honest will promise you that. If that's the pitch you want, I'm the wrong hire.
  • You want an agency contract with a 12-month lock-in. Projects are fixed-price. Retainers and the care plan are month to month, and you can cancel anytime.
Let's talk

Want to see if we'd work well together?

Free 30-minute call. If we're a fit, a fixed-price proposal in writing within five business days. If we're not, an honest pointer to someone better. Either way, no sales sequence.
