AI consulting · Jacksonville & Northeast Florida

AI consulting for Jacksonville small businesses, from someone local.

I'm Adam Hardegree, an AI strategist and consultant based in Orange Park. I sit down with you, on site or over video, find the hours AI can give back, and then set it up. Workflow audit $750, implementation quoted in writing, coaching $500/month.

What an AI consultant does for a small business.

Most AI consulting is sold to companies with a data team. Mine is for the owner who also answers the phone.

I look at your actual week and find the repetitive work: information retyped from one place into another, questions answered the same way every few days, documents built from a template, follow-ups that slip. Then I set up tools you'll actually use, like custom GPTs that answer with your real pricing and policies, automations that move information between your systems, and training so your team keeps using them.

What I build.

No new app for your team to learn. I connect the tools you already pay for, and the automation does the copying, chasing and filing in between. Your people keep making the judgment calls.

  • Your tools, connected. QuickBooks, Google Workspace, your website forms and the proposal and photo apps you use, so a job moves from one to the next without anyone retyping it.
  • Lead hand-off and follow-up. A new lead is logged and texted to the right person within about a minute, and unsigned quotes get a polite follow-up that stops the moment the customer replies.
  • An AI receptionist. It answers your business line, takes the caller's details, books the appointment and passes urgent calls to a person. It always says it's an automated assistant.
  • An owner's dashboard. Leads, jobs, money owed and paid on one screen on your phone, plus a short summary every morning.
  • An office assistant. Claude or ChatGPT set up with your prices, processes and policies, so your team asks it instead of interrupting you.
  • Apps for iPhone and Android. When a home-screen link isn't enough, I build the app. See app development.

Strategy first, then implementation.

Four steps, and you can stop after any of them.

  1. A free 30-minute call. We talk about where your time goes and whether an audit is worth it.
  2. The $750 workflow audit. Credited in full toward the build if you go ahead. Half a day, then a written plan of the 3 to 5 highest-value automations, with hours saved, costs and build order. If it doesn't show at least 3 hours a week, I refund the $750.
  3. Implementation. I build what the plan recommends for a fixed price quoted in writing, typically $1,500 to $3,500, more when it connects several of your systems.
  4. Coaching, if you want it. $500/month, month to month: two office-hour calls, refinements, staff training and help with new tools.

I build AI, not only advise on it.

I run two AI products of my own.

Trade Journal AI is a trading journal with an AI Coach built on Anthropic's Claude. Preach Plan is a sermon-planning app that uses AI to help pastors capture ideas and organize their notes. The same skills go into what I set up for your business, scaled to what a small team needs.

Common questions

Before you reach out.

If yours isn't here, just ask. I reply personally within one business day.

How much does an AI consultant cost in Jacksonville?
With me, the starting point is a $750 workflow audit: half a day and a written plan, refunded if it doesn't find at least 3 hours a week you can win back. Implementation is a fixed price quoted in writing after the audit, typically $1,500 to $3,500, more when it connects several of your systems. The coaching retainer is $500/month, month to month. Consultation time outside a project is $125/hour.
Can I set up ChatGPT myself, or do I need an AI consultant?
You can, and if it's just you writing emails, start there. A ChatGPT or Claude subscription and an hour of trying things will teach you a lot. A consultant earns the fee when the work crosses people or systems: a lead that has to reach the right person, a quote that needs your real prices, a follow-up that has to stop when the customer replies. Those are the setups that quietly break when nobody owns them. On the free call I'll tell you which side you're on.
What happens in the first month with an AI consultant?
With me it starts with a free 30-minute call. If an audit makes sense, I spend half a day with you, on site or over video, watching how the work actually moves. You get a written plan of the 3 to 5 automations worth building, with the hours each one saves, what it costs and the order to build them. If you go ahead, the $750 is credited toward the build, and I build them in the order the plan sets. You can stop after the plan.
What's the difference between AI consulting and AI implementation?
Consulting is deciding what to automate and in what order. That's the audit and its written plan. Implementation is building it: custom GPTs grounded in your pricing and processes, the automations that move information between your systems, and training for your team. I do both, and you can stop after the plan.
Do you work in person around Jacksonville?
Yes. I'm based in Orange Park and work on site across Jacksonville, Clay County and Northeast Florida, which matters most for the audit: I'd rather watch your front desk work than have it described to me. I also work over video with clients anywhere in the U.S.
Do I need to be technical?
No. The plan is written in plain English, and I train whoever will use the tools. If something needs a technical setup, that's part of what I build.
What will you tell me not to automate?
Anything that happens twice a month, because the upkeep costs more than the task, and anything where a wrong answer is expensive, like pricing exceptions or legal and medical specifics. Those keep a person in the loop, and I build the loop rather than remove it.
